More About Me

"I wanted to become an ambassador for Racine County because of the wonderful opportunity it brings to share everything that the county has to offer. I was born and raised here and believe in this community, the people and the many initiatives that are taking place to make it even better. There are so many things in this community that new individuals to Racine County and those that are looking at the community should be exposed to and should understand. As a lifelong resident, I am proud of Racine County and am glad to be able to assist by providing a greater understanding of the community."

Stephanie was born and raised in Racine and attended Park High School. She graduated from UW-Parkside with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and holds a Master of Arts in Business Communication: Leadership and Influence. Stephanie is currently the Vice President for Community and Government Relations at Gateway Technical College where she has been employed for over 20 years. In this position she is responsible for a variety of areas including the Gateway Technical College foundation, WGTD radio station, community engagement, public relations/marketing, government relations, sustainability and developing the “Gateway Experience” on the campuses.

Stephanie and her husband, Chris, own Art Metals Studio in downtown Racine and have been downtown business owners for the past 15 years.

She was always active with her two daughters, Jessica and Lauren, in both church and school but began her community involvement after she graduated from Leadership Racine in 2001. After that she became engaged in both the Racine and Kenosha communities. Stephanie has served on a number of boards including Family Services of Racine, Root-Pike WIN, Sustainable Edible Economic Development (SEED) and the Fight to End Exploitation (FEE). She currently serves on the Racine United Way Board, the Kenosha Boys and Girls Club Board and the Racine County Food Bank Board. Stephanie graduated from the Wisconsin Leadership Development Institute in 2015, a leadership development program for the Wisconsin Technical College System.
