Burlington Students Explore Local Career Pathways Through Industry Tours

Racine County, WI

From hands-on experiences to meaningful career connections, Burlington students are exploring the paths shaping our region’s workforce.

This spring, Burlington High School’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) department connected 20 students with real-world career opportunities through visits to Gateway Technical College’s iMET Center, Andis, and Evolve Concepts.

Students in grades 9–12, enrolled in engineering, metals fabrication, and technology courses, experienced firsthand what careers in manufacturing, engineering, and technology look like—right here in Burlington. Younger students gained early exposure to potential career paths, while upperclassmen explored next steps through conversations with industry professionals and insights into local job opportunities.
These experiences play a critical role in helping students connect classroom learning to future careers. Through Burlington High School’s CTE programs, students progress from early exploration to earning industry-recognized credentials and preparing for employment, apprenticeships, or continued education.
Partnerships with local employers are key to building a strong talent pipeline in Greater Racine County—giving students a clearer sense of direction while helping businesses connect with the next generation of skilled workers.

Greater Racine County extends its thanks to Burlington High School, Gateway Technical College, Andis, and Evolve Concepts for investing in local students and strengthening our regional workforce.
