Public Schools

Racine County is served by a network of seven school districts comprised of more than 60 public elementary, middle and high schools.

Private & Independent Schools

Racine County has an extensive network of private schooling options for students of all ages. In total, there are more than 30 private high school and elementary schools that offer a variety of nonreligious, Catholic, Lutheran, and Nondenominational education options.

School Choice

To broaden the options for Middle School parents in the Racine Unified School District, four Choice Schools are available to all Middle School students. Each of these schools offers unique learning environments and areas of educational emphasis for students. The Choice Schools are: Gilmore Fine Arts, Walden IIIStarbuck Middle School and The R.E.A.L. School.

Your School. Your choice.

In Racine, a child can attend any school in a neighboring district, or in some districts students can transfer to schools within the same district. Children can also attend charter schools, and some students may qualify for scholarship fundings to attend private schools. No matter which school you chose, a variety of extracurricular activities, athletic teams, and clubs will be available for your child.

Gateway Technical College

Racine County is proud to be home to Gateway Technical College’s Burlington Center, HERO Center, Racine Campus and SC Johnson iMET Center. At Gateway, students receive an industry-focused education that is flexible, accessible, and affordable.

University of Wisconsin–Parkside

UW-Parkside is one of 13 four-year campuses in the University of Wisconsin System. UW Parkside is located in Somers, Wisconsin, between Racine and Kenosha on 700 acres with natural prairies and woodlands. Enrollment is 5,300 students.

Carthage College

Founded in 1847, Carthage College is a four-year, private college of the liberal arts and sciences in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Carthage combines an environment of reflection and self-discovery with a culture of high expectation so our students uncover and ignite their true potential.

University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee

MSOE is a private, non-profit university in Milwaukee, Wisconsin offering bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Engineering, Business and Nursing.

Milwaukee Area Technical College

MATC is a public, two-year comprehensive technical college offering exceptional educational and training opportunities and services to its diverse metropolitan area.

Alverno College
