Racine County's place on the Frank Lloyd Wright Trail highlights a legacy of creativity and innovation that continues to inspire today.

As part of the Frank Lloyd Wright Trail, a statewide self-guided route connecting nine Wright-designed sites across southern Wisconsin, Racine County is home to two of the trail’s most notable destinations.

Visitors can tour the iconic SC Johnson Administration Building and Research Tower in Racine, where Frank Lloyd Wright’s innovative design principles come to life. The complex showcases his vision through distinctive architectural features, including the famous Great Workroom and the striking Research Tower. Free guided tours are available with advance reservations and also include access to exhibits highlighting Wright’s influence and the history of SC Johnson.

Just north of Racine, Wingspread offers another opportunity to experience Wright’s work firsthand. Designed as a private residence for the Johnson family, the sprawling home is now operated by The Johnson Foundation as a conference and retreat center. Guided tours provide a closer look at the home’s remarkable design elements and its connection to one of America’s most celebrated architects.
