RACINE COUNTY, WI – Racine County has it all.
This statement is echoed by Cory Sebastian, co-owner and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Sebastian’s Restaurant, located in the Village of Caledonia.
Sebastian grew up in Racine County – immersed in the restaurant industry since childhood – where she experienced firsthand the camaraderie, compassion and support of the community.
“It’s the people, architecture, and environment,” said Sebastian. “Racine County has everything you could possibly want.”
Having moved away after college, traveling the world, gaining greater culinary experience – Sebastian returned to Racine County.

Located about halfway between Chicago and Milwaukee, Sebastian understands the advantages of Racine County’s proximity between the two metros. Being a lifelong water-lover, she also appreciates the value of living, working and visiting a community so close to Lake Michigan.

Head west you’ll reach the Fox River, where water enthusiasts enjoy kayaking and fishing – both fly and conventional. The Village of Waterford a small town on the the Fox River, attracts anglers and ‘yakers (kayakers) seeking to get away from the nearby cities of Chicago and Milwaukee, to enjoy the peace and quiet of this natural community. Beth Morawetz, owner of Fox River Canoe Adventures & Kayaks, said she completely understands why so many people love traveling to this area.
“I grew up as a boater,” said Sebastian. “No matter where you go, Racine County is the best place to launch, and it’s the experience, the lakes, the weather, the camaraderie – it’s fantastic.”
The demographic blend of people who visit the harbor is what, Sebastian says, makes it such a special experience.
Whether you are a business owner, a young professional, a family ready to settle down – Sebastian says Racine County has everything you need.
Sebastian said, “If you would like to start a business, start a family, build a beautiful home – no matter where you would like to be, there’s somewhere for you in Racine County.”
